چکیده

This paper investigates the removal efficiency of a honeycomb electrostatic precipitator (ESP) applied to control particulate matter (PM) emissions from small-scale boiler with combustion lignite and hard coal. The specifics precipitation boilers are discussed, design principles for relevant ESPs presented used. ion-induced nucleation sulfuric acid occurred, causing drastic penetration 19 nm particles through ESP. Despite this, overall collection was sufficient meet EU’s Ecodesign Directive requirements. Back corona not detected. optimal ESP performance is defined further parameters: current density 0.5 mA/m2 at an electric field strength about 2.7 × 105 V/m; minimal specific collecting area (SCA) 60 m2/(m3/s); Nt-product 4.5 1014 s/m3. Such parameters should ensure adequate PM any type similar characteristics. composition collected fly ash analysed, method utilisation proposed. research may be helpful designing units fossil fuel combustion.

Electrodialytic removal of Cd from biomass combustion fly ash suspensions.

Due to relatively high concentrations of Cd, biomass combustion fly ashes often fail to meet Danish legislative requirements for recycling as fertilizer. In this study, the potential of using electrodialytic remediation for removal of Cd from four different biomass combustion fly ashes was investigated with the aim of enabling reuse of the ashes. The ashes originated from combustion of straw (t...

Effect of Additives and Fuel Blending on Emissions and Ash-Related Problems from Small-Scale Combustion of Reed Canary Grass

Agricultural producers are interested in using biomass available on farms to substitute fossil fuels for heat production. However, energy crops like reed canary grass contain high nitrogen (N), sulfur (S), potassium (K) and other ash-forming elements which lead to increased emissions of gases and particulate matter (PM) and ash-related operational problems (e.g., melting) during combustion. To ...

A synthesis of carbon dioxide emissions from fossil-fuel combustion

This synthesis discusses the emissions of carbon dioxide from fossil-fuel combustion and cement production. While much is known about these emissions, there is still much that is unknown about the details surrounding these emissions. This synthesis explores our knowledge of these emissions in terms of why there is concern about them; how they are calculated; the major global efforts on inventor...
